James C. Hobley, MD

Dr. James C. Hobley is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 2006. He is currently a partner with GastroIntestinal Specialists and serves on the Board of Directors. His particular areas of interest include diseases of the pancreas and the esophagus, as well as health disparities in colorectal cancer screenings.

Dr. Hobley’s training consists of a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine (including his internship and residency), Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy training, and receiving a Master of Science in Health Evaluation Sciences. Before attending medical school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Hobley’s professional societies include the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Dr. Hobley has served as President for the Louisiana Gastroenterology Society and as Governor for Louisiana for the ACG. He is currently appointed to the ACG Board of Directors as a trustee.

Dr. Hobley is a Shreveport native. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing golf and tennis, and listening to great music.
