David F. Dies, MD

Dr. David F. Dies is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has been practicing with GIS since 1998. He is currently a partner with GastroIntestinal Specialists and serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Dies is Co-Director of the Liver Center at GastroIntestinal Specialists, along with another GIS partner: Dr. Humberto I. Aguilar. The Liver Center is the only clinic of its type in northern Louisiana. Dr. Dies also serves as the medical director of Liver Transplantation at the Willis-Knighton Regional Liver Transplant Program. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications. His special interests include advanced liver and biliary disease, as well as advanced endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures.

Dr. Dies trained at the Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center GI and Liver Program. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Liver Foundation, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Society of Transplantation, the United Network for Organ Sharing, the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver.

Dr. Dies was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. His hobbies include traveling, snow skiing and smooth jazz music.
