J. Mark Provenza, MD

Dr. J. Mark Provenza is a gastroenterologist who has practiced in Shreveport since 1990. He is currently a partner with GastroIntestinal Specialists and serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Provenza is a clinical investigator with Louisiana Research Center, and he has participated in over 100 research studies. His particular areas of interest include GERD, colon cancer prevention and screening, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Provenza’s training consists of a Gastroenterology Fellowship, a residency and a medical degree from LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. Before attending medical school, he received a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Dr. Provenza is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Provenza is a Shreveport native, and he enjoys tennis and painting.
