The American Liver Foundation estimates that up to 100 million Americans have liver disease. While some 4.5 million people have been diagnosed with a form of liver disease, the foundation believes that another 80 million to 100 million U.S. adults have fatty liver disease. Recent studies show that both alcoholic-related and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are on the rise, making dedicated care for patients with liver disease more important than ever.

The Liver Center at GastroIntestinal Specialists is the only one of its kind in northern Louisiana, offering patients specialized liver disease care. The Liver Center is headed by Dr. David Dies and Dr. Humberto Aguilar who are both nationally recognized, fellowship-trained and board-certified liver specialists.
