John A. Kirkikis, MD

Dr. John A. Kirkikis is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 2017. Prior to joining GastroIntestinal Specialists as a hospitalist, he was a partner of Alexandria Gastroenterology Associates in Alexandria, Louisiana, for 27 years. He has served on the Board of Trustees at Rapides Regional Medical Center and the Board of Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital. Dr. Kirkikis was the head of the Medical Executive Committee of both hospitals, as well as serving on numerous other hospital committees throughout his years in Alexandria. He is presently a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Kirkikis cares for the gastrointestinal needs of inpatients in the Shreveport and Bossier City area, including esophageal, gastric, small bowel, colonic, pancreatic and liver diseases.

Dr. Kirkikis’ training includes a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, preceded by his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He graduated from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport after completing a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University Shreveport.

Dr. Kirkikis was raised in Minden, Louisiana. He enjoys the outdoors and being with his family in his free time.
