Daryl Quintin Buckelew, MD

Dr. Daryl Quintin Buckelew is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 2024. Prior to joining GIS, Dr. Buckelew was a partner with East Texas Gastroenterology and CHRISTUS Longview Gastroenterology for 25 years. He now cares for the gastrointestinal needs of inpatients in the Shreveport and Bossier City areas, including esophageal, gastric, small intestinal, colonic, pancreatic, biliary and liver diseases.

Dr. Buckelew is originally from San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Buckelew then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He returned to San Antonio to complete his fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center.  

Dr. Buckelew enjoys bass fishing, golfing, hunting, hiking, traveling and spending time with his family. He and his wife have five children who live in different cities across Texas and in Arkansas.
