The Hemorrhoid Center of Louisiana at GIS

More than half of all adults across the country will experience hemorrhoids before the age of 50. However, many of them won’t seek treatment because they are embarrassed talking about it or because they don’t recognize the condition. The truth is that hemorrhoids shouldn’t make you uncomfortable, physically or otherwise. You also don’t have to live with them. When treated early, hemorrhoids can be permanently removed, quickly and painlessly.

While there are over-the-counter creams available for hemorrhoids, creams only relieve symptoms in the short-term. Eventually, your symptoms will return because the actual hemorrhoids have not been treated. The most effective way to treat hemorrhoids is a procedure called “banding” or “rubber band ligation” using the CRH O’Regan System®.

The CRH O’Regan System® used by our experienced physicians at the Hemorrhoid Center of Louisiana is simple, safe and effective. The procedure takes only a few minutes, and there is no post-procedure pain or recovery time like you would experience from surgery. The CRH O’Regan System® works for most hemorrhoid patients. Surgical treatment for hemorrhoids is now reserved for only the most severe cases.

How Does the CRH O’Regan System® Work?

The banding procedure involves placing a tiny rubber band at the base of the hemorrhoid. This cuts off the blood supply to it. Within a few days, the band and banded tissue shrink and fall off. Most people don’t even notice when that happens.

Patients usually require three treatments. This is because everyone has three hemorrhoid columns, and all three are affected in most cases. There is no post-treatment recovery time, and you can return to your normal activities following the procedure. The CRH O’Regan System® is 95% effective, and more than 99% of patients experience no significant post-procedure pain. This treatment is also covered by most major insurance plans.
