Douglas E. Rimmer, Jr., MD
Dr. Douglas E. Rimmer Jr. is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 1998. He is currently a partner with GastroIntestinal Specialists and serves on the Board of Directors. His particular areas of interest include general gastroenterology, peptic disease, irritable bowel syndrome and colorectal cancer screening.
Dr. Rimmer’s training consists of a Gastroenterology Fellowship from Texas A&M College of Medicine, preceded by his internship and residency from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport after completing a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University Shreveport.
Dr. Rimmer was raised in Shreveport. He enjoys snow skiing and spending time with family.
