John N. Bienvenu, MD
Dr. John N. Bienvenu is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 2018. Dr. Bienvenu’s particular areas of interest include colorectal cancer screening, diseases of the biliary system, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasounds and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Dr. Bienvenu is involved in the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Shreveport Medical Society.
Dr. Bienvenu’s training includes a fellowship and residency in Gastroenterology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where he also received his medical degree. Before attending medical school, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Bienvenu is a Shreveport native. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. His hobbies include duck hunting, fishing and Formula 1® racing.
