Sathya N. Jaganmohan, MD

Dr. Sathya Jaganmohan is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been practicing with GIS since 2010. He is currently a partner with GastroIntestinal Specialists and serves on the Board of Directors. His particular areas of interest include the field of advanced pancreatic-biliary diseases and gastrointestinal cancer prevention and diagnosis, early diagnosis and prevention of esophageal cancer by early identification of Barrett’s esophagus, and ablation therapy in patients with reflux disease.

Dr. Jaganmohan is also interested in incorporating advanced technologies, such as endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and SpyGlass™ for diagnosis and management of pancreatic and biliary disease. His other procedural interests are endoscopic resection of tumors, endoscopic stent placement, use of laser for complex stone removal, endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage of pancreatic fluid collections and confocal endomicroscopy.

Dr. Jaganmohan’s training consists of a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, preceded by his internship and residency from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. Before moving to Louisiana, he attended Chengalpattu Medical College near Chennai, India. His professional societies include the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Jaganmohan received the American College of Gastroenterology Governors’ Award for Excellence in Clinical Research (2004). He was also honored as the American College of Physicians National Abstract Competition Winner (2004).

Dr. Jaganmohan was raised in Chennai (Madras), India. He loves tennis, photography and running.
